Adaptation in Deltas: Good Practices & Reaching Impact at Scale

Organizado por Global Center on Adaptation

River deltas are the main working arena of the global effort to adapt to climate change, with critical vulnerability and the highest concentration of population and economic assets. Around 500 million people currently live in deltas and coastal urban regions, and by 2050 this population will reach 750 million.

Knowledge and experience in adapting to climate change impacts on river deltas is rapidly accumulating, yet the adaptation gap remains large. This webinar session introduces adaptation in river deltas and addresses the main question of how to accelerate adaptation to address vulnerability and further promote sustainable delta development.

Presenters: Peter Glas, Delta Program Commissioner of the Netherlands, Dr. Verónica Zagare, Argentinean Wing Coordinator of Delta Alliance, Giasuddin Choudhury, Deputy Team Leader Support to Implementation of Banagladesh Delta Plan 2100, Jobe Manga, The District Environment Coordinator in Maun, Botswana .
